5 Steps to Eliminate Your Blackheads from Home

Wednesday, 30 October 2013

For most adults and teens, blackheads seem to be the worst type of acne, because unlike whiteheads, you just can't pop them. Blackheads are called open comedones. They appear on your skin as dark formations, due to an accumulated mixture of oil and skin cells present in blocked pores. Although blackheads make your skin look horrible, you should never squeeze or pluck blackheads. This can cause bacterial infections and worsen your acne. So what can you do to eliminate your blackheads? If you have already seen a dermatologist, and tried most acne products, such as Proactiv with little success, here are some home remedies and natural things you can do to drastically reduce your blackheads.

Step 1: Steam Your Face or Body Everyday to Remove Blackheads. You do not need to buy an expensive steamer or a machine. To steam your face, run some hot water. Then, take a cloth and place it the water. Make sure the water is not too hot. Slowly twist the cloth to remove excess water. Place the cloth on your face for 5 to 10 minutes. Follow with a good exfoliating scrub. Beauty 4 Ashes makes a great chest and back acne body scrub and a great facial acne scrub that is extremely effective at eliminating blackheads anywhere on your body. It's all natural and doesn't contain any harsh chemicals that will burn or irritate sensitive skin. Find it at wwwdiscoverb4acom. Another quick way to steam your face is to place a bowl of water in the microwave for three minutes, being careful to only fill your bowl less than half way full with water. After warming the water, place your face over the bowl for 10 seconds. Repeat this three times. Following with an exfoliating acne facial scrub. If the blackheads are on your body, after steaming, but before exfoliating with a scrub, run a warm bath and pour Epsom salt in the bath water to loosen your blackheads.

Step 2: Make a homemade blackhead body scrub. All you need is baking soda, dead sea salt, and water. Take 1 teaspoon of dead sea salt, which is renowned for its healing powers, and mix it with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water. In order for this to work, you are going to need a back brush to scrub your back with the paste.

Step 3: Do not use adhesive removal facial strips, because they can irritate the skin and cause more harm than good, even ripping the outer layer of skin without replenishing it with any blackhead fighting ingredients.

Step 4: Clean your face twice daily to eliminate excess oil and dirt. When washing your face, use a tea tree based cleanser. Tea tree is an extremely effective natural remedy that eliminates bacteria that cause blackheads. Be careful not to use acne products that contain alcohol or benzoyl peroxide. They only dry the face, and you actually need to train your skin to balance it's production of oil for acne to disappear. Benzoyl peroxide and alcohols only leave your face rough and susceptible to cracking, peeling, and irritation.

Step 5: Make a Oatmeal Facial Mask for your Blackheads. Using natural products to fight your blackhead battle is your best option. To make the blackhead facial mask, mix 1 cup of oatmeal with 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and three tablespoons of aloe vera juice. Give yourself a Blackhead facial once per week for at least 1 to 2 months and you will notice results-By Natalieb.

Effective Home Remedies and Prevention tips for Toenail Fungus

Friday, 25 October 2013

Toe nail fungus is part of a fungal infection of the feet. In medical terms, it is known as tinea pedis and commonly referred as athlete’s foot. Toenail fungal infections are most often caused by microscopic organisms called dermatophytes. These organisms feed on keratin, the protein found in nails and hair. The web of the toes and toenails are commonly affected areas as compared to other parts of the feet.

There are several factors that increase your risk of developing a toenail fungal infection.Toenail fungus can cause the nails to become thick, discolored, and brittle. If the nail becomes thickened, it can be painful and cause pressure on the underlying nail bed. Hence, it is most necessary to follow healthy routine to prevent toenail fungus. In this post let us see both prevention and home remedies to treat very effectively.

Prevent Tips

1. Ensure that you clip your toenails correctly and regularly.

2. Never go barefoot in public areas / public toilets.

3. Never Wear damp Scoks or shoes.

4.Alternate your footwers.

5. Disinfect your footwers regularly.

6. Always wear properly fitted and ventiated shoes and footwers.

7.Never share your foot wears

Home Remedies to treat toenail fungus

1. Lavender Oil

Anti-fungal properties of lavender oil make it an effective remedy for mild cases of toenail fungus.  Apply a few drops of lavender oil (available to buy from this page on Amazon) to the infected nails every night and let it soak in while you sleep.  To prevent the oil from rubbing off, you can optionally cover your feet with a pair of wool socks.  Just be sure not to use socks made of synthetic fibers as this will only worsen the infection.  Remember, a nail that looks healthy may still be hiding traces of fungus.  It is best to continue topical treatments such as this one for at least a few weeks after the infection appears to be gone.

2.Tea Tree oil.

Dilute the tea tree oil with olive oil and apply to the affected toe nail. Be sure to leave equal parts of your mixture on the nail for 10-15 minutes before bathing or rubbing off to be sure the solution has absorbed into the nail. Continue the use of this natural home remedy for toenail fungus for several weeks after the fungus has cleared to keep it away.

3. Coconut Oil

Caprylic acid, one of the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil, has the ability to penetrate the durable cell wall of Candida and other fungi.  Without its protective coating the cells of the fungus dissolve, effectively destroying the infection.  Apply a thin layer of coconut oil to infected areas and let it soak in for at least fifteen minutes.  Coconut oil is great for skin health, so there is no limit to how often you can use this treatment.  Just make sure you aren’t allergic to coconuts before applying this product to sensitive tissue.

4.Vicks Vapor Rub.

For mild to moderate toenail fungus, some, swear by this all natural remedy to curing their toenail fungus. Using a Q-Tip, apply the vapor rub, rubbing it into the toenail, cover with a band-aid or other form of gauze. Leave on overnight. Remove bandaging in the morning and wash the toenail. Some have seen drastic improvement in as little as one day.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

One of the best remedies for toenail fungus, apple cider vinegar can be used topically, internally, or both. Mix one part ACV and one part Epsom salts with six parts hot water.  Let the water cool so that it is still warm to the touch, but not so hot as to be damaging to your skin.  Soak feet up to twice daily for at least thirty minutes to kill fungus.  Mix two tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar with eight ounces of warm water and add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten the beverage.

Is gaining weight healthy?-An analysis

Monday, 7 January 2013

The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, suggested the overweight were less likely to die prematurely than people with a "healthy" weight.

Scientists have slammed a recent study which suggests that being overweight can lead to a longer life.

One of the experts labelled the findings a “pile of rubbish” while another said it was a “horrific message” to put out.

The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, suggested the overweight were less likely to die prematurely than people with a “healthy” weight.

Researchers at the US National Centre for Health Statistics looked at 97 studies involving nearly 2.9 million people to compare death rates with Body Mass Index (BMI) — a way of measuring obesity using a person’s weight and height.

A healthy BMI is considered to be above 18.5 and below 25.

However, overweight people (with a BMI between 25 and 30) were 6 per cent less likely to die early than those considered to have a healthy weight, the study reported.

The study said being “overweight was associated with significantly lower all-cause mortality”.

Possible explanations included overweight people getting medical treatment, such as to control blood pressure, more quickly or the extra weight helping people survive being severely ill in hospital.

However, the researchers point out they looked only at deaths and not years spent free of ill-health.

“Have you ever seen a 100-year-old human being who is overweight? The answer is you probably haven’t,” Prof John Wass, vice-president of the Royal College of Physicians, said.

Prof Wass said the largest people will have died years before and pointed to health problems and higher levels of Type 2 diabetes.
